Telco giant PLDT Inc. is raising its capital expenditure for the year to P85 billion from its original target of P76 billion to P80 billion.
The firm said this is to support updated requirements for the home broadband and data center businesses, as well as additional upgrades of the towers and its passive infrastructure assets.
Its capex for the first quarter of the year tallied at P15.8 billion, with P3.3 billion utilized for PLDT’s home broadband connections, while P11.6 billion was used in the network.
PLDT also recently embarked on a large-scale tower sale with foreign companies.
