Globe Telecom said that it has successfully met its target to lay down one million fiber lines this year following the demand for fixed-line internet connectivity due to the pandemic.
The telco said that they have reached the said goal “three months ahead of schedule,” noting that this will benefit their subscribers particularly in terms of faster internet speeds and better streaming quality for videos and webinars.
“All of our regional teams delivered big numbers in Luzon that helped reach our aspiration despite the continuing challenges of the pandemic,” said Globe SVP for program delivery, network technical group Joel Agustin.
He added that Globe is bullish to keep the momentum “with rollouts in full swing.”
Globe is currently pushing upgrades for its mobile and fixed-line networks, increasing its full-year capital spending target to P76 billion from P70 billion.
