To give underprivileged families access to reliable internet connectivity, Globe is providing one time free 1GB worth of data in all 46 KonekTayo WiFi sites in Luzon and Visayas.
The said free data allocation can be consumed for five hours.
Globe said that this is to help Filipinos to stay connected for virtual classes, work-from-home, and online businesses, especially those in areas under lockdown.
“We understand that with the ongoing community quarantines, many residents in areas where KonekTayo-powered sites are additionally challenged to have access to affordable internet connectivity. While lockdowns limit them, their need for data remains constant. Through the FREE data, we hope to help ease their burden,” said Barbie Dapul, Vice President for Marketing of Globe At Home.
KonekTayo WiFi is a fast and secure community WiFi service that provides households with an affordable internet connection without needing a modem, a postpaid subscription, or mobile data.
To claim the free 1GB data, residents in KonekTayo WiFi communities must connect to KonekTayo WiFi, register their number, and click on the button that indicates the 1GB option.
Last June, Globe partnered with the National Housing Authority (NHA) and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) to provide KonekTayo WiFi services to about 40,000 housing beneficiaries in 100 resettlement sites nationwide.
