Globe’s KonekTayo WiFi and Free GoWiFi services land in Davao

Globe has partnered with the largest city in the Philippines, Davao City, to deliver reliable connectivity through GoWiFi and KonekTayo WiFi services. This aims to keep residents safe, informed, and connected as reliance on the Internet for day-to-day activities grows rapidly.

This milestone partnership marks the first presence of Globe’s technology in Davao that solidifies the support of the major telco to the highly-urbanized city with top industry-grade and innovative services. It is the company’s broader plan to serve Filipinos with accessible and affordable means of communication.

“We remain steadfast and focused on the vision of the city government to fulfill a better and more connected Davao City, and enable the efficient delivery of services to its people through accessible and affordable internet services,” said Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO in a relayed message. “We also continue to amplify our efforts to support Davao City in its digital transformation journey.”

“Truly, the future is online, and it is for this reason that we are grateful for internet service providers like Globe for ensuring that the people of Davao are in step with the rest of the world and that we are on track towards progress and development in the rise of the digital age,” said Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Through GoWiFi, Globe will power up Davao City Hall and Davao City People’s Park to allow staff members and the general public to conduct essential online activities conveniently and remain connected for free. GoWiFi, the largest WiFi service in the country, is currently accessible in over 3,100 locations nationwide and is available to all users regardless of network provider.

The presence of Globe’s GoWiFi and KonekTayo services are valuable for Dabawenyos, who rely on a stable internet connection to work, to learn, to access healthcare, to communicate, and to access essential services.
